The use of supported transition metals and metal oxides as catalysts for the metal carbonyl substitution reaction
Abstract
Supported transition metals(Pt, Pd, Ru, Rh) and PdO and PtO2 catalyse the reaction M–CO + L → M–L + CO (L = isonitrile, group 5 donor ligand) and readily give complexes such as Mo(CO)2(PhCH2NC)4, Mn2(CO)9(C6H11NC), Ir4(CO)6(ButNC)6, and Re2(CO)8(PMePh2)2in high yield; the catalyst supports also show mild catalytic behaviour.
