Photocatalytic synthesis of ethane from acetic acid. Kolbe reaction at a gas–solid interface under u.v.-illumination

Abstract

Photocatalytic decarboxylaion of gaseous acetic acid over u.v.-illuminated, platinized titania gave predominantly ethane when gaseous water was present in the system.
