A synthesis of adenosine 5′-[β-18O2]triphosphate

Abstract

A synthesis of adenosine 5′-[β-18O2]triphosphate (8) has been achieved by a novel route in an overall yield of 19% based on phosphorus pentachloride. The use of the diphenylmethyl protecting group is a key feature of the synthesis. Some 18O isotope shifts in 31P and 13C n.m.r. spectra are reported.
