Magnetic circular dichroism spectrum of 1,3-diquinocyclobutanedione
Abstract
Magnetic circular dichroism and absorption spectra of 1,3-bis(3,5-di-t-butyl-4-oxo-2,5-cyclo-hexadiene-1-ylidine) cyclobutanedione (1) have been measured. The absorption spectrum was assigned by comparing the experimental results for the signs of Faraday B term, dipole strengths and transition energies with those computed using the Pariser–Parr–Pople–SCF-π-MO CI method with variable bond-length.
