Ab initio study of the insertions of CH2 and SiH2 into H2

Abstract

While the insertion of CH2 into H2 proceeds with no energy barrier, he SiH2 insertion has to overcome a 36 kJ mol–1 barrier, calculated by SCF + MP2 methods.
