Stability of parameter estimates made using three- and four-parameter extended Arrhenius and Van't Hoff equations

Abstract

A technique is discussed for assessing the stability of estimates of ΔCp and d(ΔCp)/dT obtained by application of extended Arrhenius/Van't Hoff equations to a reducing set of rate/equilibrium constant against temperature data. The technique is of value in determining whether the derived parameter is genuine, or arises due to an increasing systematic experimental error leading to a spurious but otherwise apparently genuine parameter estimate.
