Cluster chemistry. A novel nickel extrusion reaction: preparation and X-ray crystal structure of [Ni(PMe3)2(η-C5H5)][Fe2Ni(CO)6(C2Ph2)(η-C5H5)]

Abstract

The structure of the mixed iron–nickel cluster complex [Ni(PMe3)2(η-C5H5)][Fe2Ni(CO)6(C2Ph2)(η-C5H5)] has been determined by a single-crystal X-ray diffraction study; it is formed by an unusual nickel extrusion reaction of Fe2Ni2(CO)6(C2Ph2)(η-C5H5).
