Synthesis of η-methylallylbis(η-butadiene)-niobium and -tantalum using the metal atoms

Abstract

Cocondensation of niobium or tantalum atoms with an excess of butadiene and tetrahydrofuran yields the diamagnetic, crystalline compounds M(η-MeC3H4)(η-C4H6)2, M = Nb or Ta.
