X-Ray crystal structure of the sesquiterpene lactone scorpioidine

Abstract

A new germacranolide from Vernonia scorpioides has been isolated and its stereostructure elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic data and an X-ray analysis; it has a unique conformation for a cyclodecadiene.
