Synthesis and X-ray crystal structure of a novel dimeric molybdenum(III) cyano complex: [(PPh4)4][Mo24-S2)(µ2-SO2)(CN)8]·6H2O

Abstract

X-Ray crystallographic analysis shows that the diamagnetic dimeric title complex has a structure in which the molybdenum atoms are bridged by a sulphur-bonded SO2 ligand and by S22–; the metal atoms have distorted pentagonal bipyramidal co-ordination.
