Biosynthesis of citrinin in Penicillium citrinum: advanced precursor studies using 2H nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy

Abstract

Specific incorporation of 4,6-dihydroxy-3,5-dimethyl-2-(1-methyl-2-oxopropyl)-benzaldehyde into citrinin is demonstrated using 2H n.m.r. spectroscopy.
