Abstract

The new aryldiazenido complexes [(η5-MeC5H4)Mn(CO)2(N2R)][BF4](R =o-CF3C6H4, o-FC6H4, or Ph) and [(η5-C5H5)Re(CO)2(N2R)][BF4](R =o-CF3C6H4) react with nucleophiles such as I–, Cl–, Br–, CN–, or SCN– to give the dinitrogen complexes [(η5-MeC5H4)Mn(CO)2N2] and [(η5-C5H5)Re(CO)2N2].
