Phomazarin. Part 3. The structure of isophomazarin

Abstract

Isophomazarin, a minor pigment isolated from the mycelium of Pyrenochaeta terrestris has been assigned the structure 6-n-butyl-4,5,8-trihydroxy-7-methoxy-l-aza-anthraquinone-2-carboxylic acid from biogenetic considerations and a comparison of its chemical behaviour, and of spectral data of its derivatives with those of phomazarin.
