Size of a polymer molecule in solution. Part 2.—Semi-dilute solutions

Abstract

The problem of a solution of polymer molecules of step length l, length L, monomer density ρ, interaction ω(∼Tθ) is studied. An extrapolation formula is derived for the length of one of the polymers 〈R2〉=L l1 where a simplified formula is [graphic omitted] where u and m are numerical constants, the full formula is given in the text. This formula agrees with several known limits and predicts others.
