A face-bonded cycloheptatrienyl ligand: X-ray crystal structure of [Ru3(CO)63-SBut){µ3-(η7-C7H7)}]

Abstract

The sulphur–ruthenium cluster [Ru3H(CO)9(µ3-SBut)] reacts with cycloheptatriene to form the complex [Ru3(CO)6(µ3-SBut){µ3-(η7-C7H7)}], shown by X-ray diffaction to contain the first example of a facebonded cycloheptatrienyl ligand.
