Vinylogous nucleophilic catalysis: hydrolysis of ethenesulphonyl chloride in the presence of pyridine bases
Abstract
Evidence is presented that hydrolysis of ethenesulphonyl chloride (2a) in the presence of pyridine bases takes place by the route (2a)→(5)→(3a), i.e. by vinylogous nucleophilic catalysis.
