Addition of nucleophilic metal complexes to mononuclear transition metal carbyne compounds; X-ray crystal structure of [PtW(µ-CC6H4-p-Me)(CO)2(PMe2Ph)2(η-C5H5)]

Abstract

Compounds containing platinum–tungsten bonds with bridging carbyne ligands are formed by reaction of the species [Pt(C2H4)(PR3)2](PR3= PMe3 or PMe2Ph) with carbyne complexes [W(CR)(CO)2(η-C5H5)] or [WBr(CR)(CO)4](R = C6H4-p-Me); X-ray diffraction studies have established the structure of [PtW(µ-CC6H4-p-Me)(CO)2(PMe2Ph)2(η-C5H5)].
