Molecular motion and barriers in N2H5Cl and N2H5Br studied by inelastic neutron scattering and proton magnetic resonance spin lattice relaxation
Abstract
Molecular ion motion in the salts N2H5Cl Br has been studied by inelastic neutron scattering and proton magnetic resonance spin-lattice relaxation times. Activation energies and approxiamte simple harmonic barriers for rotation of the —NH+3 group in each salt have been determined. Some conclusions have been drawn about the nature of the external barriers restricting motion of both the —NH+3 and the —NH2groups.
