Infrared chemiluminescence from the reaction of hydrogen atoms with fluoroethylenes
Abstract
The reactions of hydrogen atoms with the fluoroethylenes C2F4, C2HF3, C2H2F2 and C2H3F were found to produce vibrationally excited HF†; (up to v′= 3). The variation of the emission intensity from the excited HF†; has been studied at various pressure in the presence of Ar or He. From these studies the relative rates of formation of HF†; into the individual vibrational levels have been obtained. The simple Golden Rule model of M. J. Berry has been applied to these results.
