Transition-metal carbonyl derivatives of the germanes. Part 7. Properties of complexes containing dimethylgermyliron carbonyl groups and their interconversion
Abstract
The complex [Fe(CO)4(GeMe2H)2](1) is unstable with respect to condensation to [{Fe(CO)4(GeMe2)}2](2) eliminating GeMe2H2. In the light, or very slowly in the dark, (2) loses CO and is probably converted to [Fe2(CO)7-(GeMe2)2](3). The i.r., 1H n.m.r., and mass spectra of these complexes are reported.
