Neutron diffraction studies of tetrachloride liquids

Abstract

Neutron diffraction measurements are reported for VCl4, CCl4, SiCl4, TiCl4, GeCl4, SnCl4 and special mixtures of TiCl4+ SiCl4 and TiCl4+ SnCl4 using both reactor (steady-state) and linac (pulsed) neutron techniques. Information is extracted for the molecular structure and, in certain cases, for the real-space distribution function of the chlorine atoms.
