Methyltriphenoxyphosphonium trifluoromethanesulphonate: a new, versatile synthetic reagent

Abstract

Methyltriphenoxyphosphonium trifluoromethanesulphonate is used to synthesise a variety of compound types including ethers, esters, nitriles, and diols and in a novel reduction of alkenes to alkanes.
