Determination of lead in atmospheric particulates using an automated atomic-absorption spectrophotometric system with electrothermal atomisation

Abstract

A laboratory constructed automatic sampling system is used for the determination by atomic absorption spectrophotometry with electrothermal atomisation of up to 50 air particulate samples, after acid dissolution. When used on a routine basis, this method results in a high precision and permits a large number of samples to be analysed in a minimum time without operator attendance.
