The constitution of Hector's Base; X-ray crystal and molecular structure of 5-imino-4-phenyl-3-phenylamino-4H-1,2,4-thiadiazoline

Abstract

The 89-year controversy concerning the constitution of Hector's Base has been resolved by X-ray analysis; the base is shown to be 5-imino-4-phenyl-3-phenylamino-4H-1,2,4-thiadiazoline.
