The He(Iα) photoelectron spectra of [M(C6H3Me3-1,3,5)(CO)3] and [M(C7H8)(CO)3](M = Cr, MO, or W) are reported. The metal d-orbital and ligand π orbital ionization energies are assigned and discussed.
