Organosilicon chemistry: new applications to reductive nucleophilic acylation

Abstract

α-Chloroethyltrimethylsilane (1) is deprotonated to give (2) which reacts with ketones and aldehydes to give α,β-epoxysilanes, useful precursors to methyl ketones.
