Rate of homogeneous electron transfer reactions in polar solvents in the abnormal region

Abstract

The free energy dependence of the reaction rate of homogeneous electron transfer reactions is examined within the framework of the Levich and Dogonadze theory. It is shown that quantum and intermediate vibrations of the inner sphere which are reorganized during the electron transfer tend to increase the reaction rate in the abnormal region.
