1,3-Shifts in fluxional η3-dienylpalladium(II) complexes

Abstract

η 3 Cyclohepta-2,4-dienylpalladium complex are fluxional in solution owing to intercharge of C(1) and C(5), C(2) and C(4), and C(6) and C(7); a 1,3-shift mechanism is indicatred for the interchanges and there is a direct relation between ΔG and the trans-effectiveness of L in [Pd(C7H9)L2] or [Pd(C7H9)L2]PF6.
