A bis(acetylene)platinum(0) complex; crystal and molecular structures of [Pt(PhC2Ph)2] and [Pt2(PMe3)2(PhC2Ph)2]

Abstract

Reaction of [Pt(1,5-C8H12)2] with diphenylacetylene affords [Pt(PhC2Ph)2], which reacts with trimethylphosphine to give [Pt2(PMe3)2(PhC2Ph)2]; the structural identity of both new complexes was established by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.
