SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE:
Formic acid-catalysed rearrangement of carotol (1) gives, among other products, the alcohol (4); X-ray crystal structure determination of its p-iodobenzoate (7) showed that the ester contained enantiomeric forms of (4).
