The observation of an intermediate in the reaction between tetrachlorogold(III) and thiocyanate ions

Abstract

In aqueous solution at 25 °C the substitution of one chloride ion in tetrachlorogold(III) by thiocyanate involves a readily detectable intermediate of 1 AuCl4: 1 SCN stoicheiometry.
