Kinetic studies show that the reaction of bis(dimethylglyoximato)bis(thiourea)cobalt(III) with V2+ proceeds by an outer-sphere mechanism, whereas that with Cr2+ probably proceeds by an inner-sphere mechanism via an intermediate with a single Cr–S–Co bridge.
