Phosphorylated sugars. Part XVII. Synthesis of 3-deoxy-D-arabino-[1-14C]heptulosonic acid 7-(dihydrogen phosphate)

Abstract

The title compound was synthesised by addition of potassium [14C]cyanide to 2-deoxy-D-arabino-hexose 6-phosphate and selective oxidation of the resulting 3-deoxyheptonic acid 7-phosphate with chlorate and vanadium oxide.
