Electrostatic potential outside the (111) face of fluorite

Abstract

The electrostatic potential function outside the fluorite crystal is derived for the (111) cleavage face. Using Fourier analysis and applying the procedure of Lennard-Jones and Dent, a general expression is obtained for the potential as a function of coordinates x, y and z and mapping of the potential was done over one unit of the surface.
