Thermal rearrangement of (chloromethyl)silanes

Abstract

Thermal rearrangements of hydridic (chloromethyl)silane and (chloromethyl)chlorosilane occur through an intermolecular process and not via the intra-molecular reaction of the type invoked for analogous reactions in other (halogenoalkyl) silanes.
