Treatment of adenosine, 2-aminoadenosine, adenine arabinoside, formycin, 1-Me-AMP, cyclo-AMP, and 1-Me-cyclo-AMP with H2Se in aqueous pyridine gave the corresponding seleno compounds with good yield.
