Rearrangements of 8-oxa-4-thia-1-azabicyclo[4,3,0]non-2-en-7-ones: a new synthesis of 4-thiazolines

Abstract

The enethiolates e.g.(13), formed from thiazino-oxazolidinones, e.g.(9), in the presence of potassium t-butoxide, are converted into 4-thiazolines e.g.(15), probably by an SN2-like pathway.
