Enthalpies of formation of 1 : 1,1 : 2, and 2 : 1 adducts of xenon difluoride with antimony, niobium, and tantalum pentafluorides

Abstract

Standard enthalpies of formation of XeF2,MF5, XeF2,2MF5(M = Sb, Ta, or Nb), and 2XeF2,M F5(M = Sb or Ta) have been estimated from their heats of alkaline hydrolyses. The ionicity order of these compounds (Sb > Ta > Nb) adduced from vibrational spectroscopy is confirmed by the thermochemical results.
