Factors governing the direct reaction between aromatic cation radicals and chloride ion

Abstract

Moderately stable aromatic cation radicals (generated by the peroxydisulphate ion) react directly with chloride ion to give quantitative yields of nuclear chlorinated hydrocarbons.
