Novel reaction of N-methyloctaethylporphyrinatocobalt(II) acetate: intramolecular oxidative alkylation

Abstract

Reduction of N-methyloctaethylporphyrinatocobalt(II) acetate with NaBH4generates methylcobalt(III)-octaethylporphyrin by a mechanism involving bond cleavage induced by the oxidation of CoI to CoIII.
