Reaction of nitrous oxide with solvated electrons in mixtures of water and dimethyl sulphoxide

Abstract

The rate constant of the reaction between electrons and N2O in mixtures of H2O–Me2SO increases rapidly at concentrations of Me2SO above 0·66 mole fraction suggesting that the degree of solvation of the electron diminishes markedly in these solutions.
