Compounds (Ia), (II), and (IIIa) have been isolated from the reaction of t-butylamine with 2-benzyl-3-methyl-1,4-naphthoquinone; a similar reaction with 2,3-dibenzyl-1,4-naphthoquinone gave compounds (Ib) and (IIIb).
