Photochemical cleavage of ethers and alkylation of benzylic alcohols with trialkylaluminium compounds

Abstract

Upon irradiation in the presence of trialkyl-aluminiums, various ethers are cleaved and the hydroxy-group of benzylic alcohols can be replaced by alkyl groups.
