Electron spin resonance study of the reaction of O(3P) atoms with chlorine and nitrosyl chloride
Abstract
The kinetics of the reactions of oxygen atoms with chlorine and with nitrosyl chloride have been studied in a discharge-flow system using electron spin resonance detection. Chlorine atom concentration profiles were obtained in the O + Cl2 system. In neither system was ClO ever detected. The Arrhenius parameters obtained for the initial steps were: [graphic omitted]
