Vibrational spectra of fluorocarbon–Group V derivatives. Part III. The compounds (CF3)2PX where X = halogen or hydrogen

Abstract

The gas phase i.r. and liquid phase Raman spectra of the phosphines (CF3)2PX (X = H, F, Cl, Br, I) have been recorded, and the observed fundamentals assigned on the basis of Cs symmetry. Coupling of the vibrational modes of the same symmetry class has been noted.
