Study of the Mössbauer effect in europium(III) complexes

Abstract

151 Eu Mössbauer spectra of a number of europium(III) complexes, including aminopolycarboxylates, β-diketones, and 1,10-phenanthroline complexes, have been investigated. Isomer shifts of these complexes fall within a remarkably small range, indicating that their bonding is predominantly ionic in character, with the possibility of a small covalent contribution.
