Electron diffraction study of gaseous CH(NO2)3 and CCl(NO2)3

Abstract

The average geometrical structures of CH(NO2)3 and CCl(NO2)3 are consistent with C3 models having similar parameters for C–N, N[double bond, length as m-dash]O, and ONO, and different ones for ∠ NCN; the C–Cl bond length for the tetrahedral carbon atom in CCl(NO2)3(1·712 Å) is the shortest yet found.
