Molecular structure of the ground state triplet Cu2Cl62– dimer in (Ph4As)CuCl3

Abstract

The existence of a symmetrically bridged, ferromagnetically coupled Cu2Cl62– dimer in (Ph4As)CuCl3, with bridging Cu–Cl–Cu angles of 93·6°, ca. 2° smaller than for antiferromagnetically coupled dimers, has been confirmed by an X-ray crystal structure determination.
