Hydroquinone as a reducing agent for conversion of aryldiazonium salts into arenes

Abstract

A convenient, in situ method is described for reductive removal of an aromatic amino-group in high yield: hydroquinone is used to reduce intermediate diazonium salts and the method has been applied to certain azulenylamines.
