The cage compound (BMe)6(CH)4

Abstract

Sealed-tude pyrolysis of BMe3 permits isolation of the compound (BMe)6(CH)4 in 25% yield; n.m.r. evidence shows six equivalent BMe and four equivaient CH groups, and an adamantane-like structure is prosposed for the boron–carbon cage.
